The female lead of When Life Gives You Tangerines is played by IU, a renowned South Korean singer. Born on May 16, 1993, she debuted at the young age of 15 as a singer-songwriter. Her real name is Lee Ji-eun.

IU is one of the few Korean celebrities with very few controversies or anti-fans. She has gained widespread popularity by covering songs from legendary artists and collaborating with them. She has released five full albums, nine mini-albums, ten singles, and two tribute and cover albums, along with numerous concerts.

When Life gives you tangerines 의 여자주인공은 '아이유'로 활동하고 있는 한국의 가수입니다. 1993년 5월 16일 출생인 그녀는 무려 15살에 데뷔한 싱어송라이터에요. 
본명은 이지은입니다.

아이유는 우리나라에서 안티 팬들이 별로 없는 스캔들 없는 가수이기도 한데요, 
아주 유명한 대선배들의 노래를 리메이크를 하고, 함께 부르는 등 정말 많은 사람들이 좋아하는 가수이기도 합니다.
